What is a giclée print?
Giclée printing is a high-end printing process that creates extremely clear and vibrant prints by using archival inks on archival, museum-quality materials. The term “Giclée” (pronounced zhee-clay) is derived from the French word “gicler,” which means “to spray” or “to squirt.” Giclée printing involves spraying microscopic dots of pigment-based inks onto various substrates such as paper, canvas, or even fabric.
Giclée printing is widely used in the reproduction of artworks, photographs, and digital designs due to its ability to produce prints with exceptional color accuracy, detail, and longevity. Giclée printers are able to print with more colors than a normal printer leading to a more accurate reproduction. The archival inks tend to be fade-resistant and can last for generations when properly cared for.
What is a limited edition print?
